At least 55 people have been killed and dozens wounded after bombing in a hospital in southwestern Quetta, the capital city of Balochistan.
The bombing happened on Monday when several mourners gathered in the hospital to accompany the body of the prominent lawyer, Bilal Anwar Kasi, who was gunned down by unidentified assailants earlier that day.
According to an eyewitness, the blast took place near the Quetta's civil hospital's entry gate of the accidents section soon after the dead body of the lawyer was brought in for autopsy. Several gunshots were also heard after the bomb blast.
Balochistan Home Minister, Sarfraz Bugti, condemned the attack and said that it was a matter of serious security lapse. Police have beefed up the security and a probe has been ordered.
