Three men were arrested on December 9 for trying to enter Singapore illegally, the police coast guard said.
The men, aged between 22 and 29, were seen swimming towards Singapore from Malaysia at about 11pm local time, the Straits Times reported citing a police statement.
Both land and sea resources were deployed to the area, the report said.
They were then intercepted and arrested for unlawful entry into Singapore under the Immigration Act.
If convicted of unlawful entry into Singapore, they may face up to six months' jail and at least three strokes of the cane.
