Louis van Gaal has confirmed striker Will Keane will be included in Manchester United's travelling squad to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
Before the start of the season, the 23-year-old joined Preston North End on a season long loan. However, lack of options up front and James Wilson leave Old Trafford temporarily on loan forced the Red Devils to recall Keane in January.
The striker has been featured for United Under-21s and recently he scored five goals during their 7-0 victory over Norwich City Under-21. Keane's form has not gone unnoticed and he has now earned a place in the squad to face the Black Cats this weekend
"Yes [he will be involved in the first team squad], that's the reason we called him back [from a loan spell at Preston North End]," Van Gaal told MUTV.
"He's always training with us, with the first selection, and he's scoring a lot of goals now. He is also in the squad tomorrow and I hope that he shall continue with scoring goals because that is very important for a striker."
With Keane in the squad, United have the services of captain Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial, along with Keane as the first choice strikers in the squad. The England international has been in fine form, scoring seven goals in last eight fixtures.
Van Gaal has been deploying Rooney as the main striker since the start of this calendar year. Martial has been playing on the left-wing, which has then allow Juan Mata to play behind the striker in his preferred role.
