More than 1,000 companies will participate in the Singapore Airshow, Asia's largest, which will take place from February 16 to 21.
Top aerospace companies from around the world will display the latest aircraft systems and equipment, together with their related technologies, at the biennial show, organisers said.
Aircraft deals worth billions of dollars are expected to be concluded at the event. At the previous edition of the show in 2014, aircraft deals worth $32 billion were signed.
While some industry analysts are downbeat about this year's show, which is taking place under the shadow of a global economic downturn, the organisers say they expect robust business.
They point out that Asia is still a vast market for airline industry as a whole, accounting for about 40 per cent of new aircraft deliveries.
"Look at Singapore's strategic location, our level of connectivity within the region and how we're seen as a very business-neutral platform ... "I think all these (are good for) Singapore as a country and for the Singapore Airshow," ," said Leck Chet Lam, managing director of Experia Events, according to Channel News Asia.
Leck said, beyond business, one of the chief attractions of this year's show will be the emerging technologies zone.
"These are the companies that are pushing the boundaries, to see what we can do with new technologies and what the new applications that can come out of them are. An example of this is 3D printing or 3D manufacturing."
The other two major zones are the Business Aviation Zone and the Training & Simulation Zone.
The event will also feature an Aviation Leadership Summit, which will be attended by senior commercial and government delegates from around the world.
Companies from as many as 50 countries are participating in the show.
