A ghost hunter has managed to capture the elusive ghost of Griffin Inn, a female 'entity' terrorising the pub in Wakefield, Yorkshire for several years.

The Griffin Inn, which was converted to a pub in the early 19th century, has a record of several haunting incidents, including an old man's spirit sitting by the fire, and the above-mentioned lady, who has been christened "The Governess."

The lady has been known to be dressed in white, working in the cellar and throwing dishes to attract attention.

The ghost hunter Andrew Williamson, a Wakefield resident, claims to have a supernatural sense, which he uses to take "extreme photographs" of such incidents.

He was investigating a reported haunting at the Griffin Inn when he is said to have felt a supernatural presence, following which he took pictures in the darkness.

Andrew is said to have positioned himself in the area where he had sensed the entity and took a photo of the wall with a longer shutter speed to observe what had been captured by the Canon SL1 camera.

Several of his photographs show the ghostly apparition of a woman, facing the wall, although Williamson was alone at that time.

"It is a woman. She never gave her name, she was saying nothing to nobody. I just knew there was an entity there," said Williamson.

"The pub has a history of things happening when the place is closed up at night, which show up on CCTV but not what is causing them. There are regular things that happen in the night, like glasses falling off a shelf for no particular reason and bottles falling on the floor when no one is in," he added.

Andrew has also stated that the previous owners and several customers at the pub have talked about a spooky feeling in the place. The sensation of being followed and watched hangs about the place perpetually.

The Griffin Inn's supernatural history has attracted many people over the years, who have tried to investigate the source of the disturbances.
