Thursday surely didn't start on a happy note for Singaporeans. Office goers and daily commuters faced a massive traffic jam on Upper Serangoon Road after a trailer broke down in the middle of the road.
Commuters took to Twitter to express their frustration as early as 9am (local time), saying they were stuck in traffic for at least half an hour. People who were travelling by public transport also faced difficulty as bus services were affected.
According to The Straits Times, the trailer, which was carrying concrete slabs, was coming out of a construction site onto Upper Serangoon Road when it broke down. After investigation, it was concluded that the vehicle broke down due to a mechanical fault.
In a tweet at 9.38am, SBS Transit announced the inaccessible areas and later also notified everyone when the services were resumed.
Please be informed that Services 13, 100, 107, 133, 135, 147, 155 will skip bus stops along Upp Serangoon Rd (in direction of City) and Upp Aljunied Rd (in direction of MacPherson Rd) due to private trailer breakdown which caused road impassable.
