Cambodian authorities said they arrested a Spanish national who was on the hunt following the gruesome killing and dismemberment of another Spaniard in Bangkok last month.
Businessman David Bernat was found murdered with multiple body parts floating in Bangkok's Chao Praya river.
Thai police concluded that he was kidnapped and murdered after finding that more than $1 million was moved from his bank account after his death, The Nation reported.
Thai authorities had said they suspected fellow-Spaniard Artur Segarra for the murder, adding they believed he was still inside the country.
His arrest in Cambodian city of Sihanoukville was confirmed on Sunday.
"We arrested him yesterday late afternoon. ... This morning I will send him to the immigration department so that we can hand him over to the Thai authorities," said Chuon Narin, police chief of Kampong Som province, according to AFP.
