Singapore's largest lender DBS Bank on Monday said it appointed Mark Troutman as group head of sales for the bank's global transaction services (GTS) unit.

Troutman, who previously headed corporate sales for HSBC's payments and cash management product group, has over 25 years of experience in cash management and trade finance, managing relationships with multinational companies.

Before joining HSBC, Troutman held several senior roles in JP Morgan and Bank of America, across international markets such as the U.S., Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

DBS' global transaction services business provides comprehensive global treasury solutions to clients, including liquidity management, payments and receipts, foreign exchange, commercial card services, among others.

The key markets for GTS services include Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India, Indonesia, Taiwan and Korea.

"Global transaction services is a strategic priority for the bank given its essential role in deepening our institutional banking group customer relationships and as a driver of revenue growth for the group," said John Laurens, head of global transaction services at DBS Bank.

For the first half of 2017, GTS income grew 14 percent year on year, the bank said in a statement.

Shares in DBS Group Holdings gained 2 percent to S$20.46 on the Singapore Exchange.
