Singapore's biggest telco is adding the video streaming service HOOQ on its over-the-top video portal app CAST for its postpaid mobile, fibre broadband, and Singtel TV customers.

HOOQ's library of over 20,000 movies and television series can now be viewed on mobile, tablets, and smart TV sets enabled with Android TV and Google Chromecast.

The service is the latest addition to the portal app's wide range of content. Currently, other services offered on the platform include Aneka Plus, Asian Plus, Fox+, Variety Plus, and Viu Premium.

Singtel customers will be given a wide array of programmes from HOOQ's network of studio partners which include Lionsgate, Warner Bros., Disney, Dreamworks, and Sony Pictures.

According to one of Singtel's managing directors, Goh Seow Eng, consumers will be able to access content such as blockbusters like Captain America: The First Avenger to popular TV series The Flash and Supergirl.

To recall, HOOQ is the only video-on-demand service in Singapore to offer Hollywood movies 90 days after their cinema release. It is also the first to stream TV series with same-day telecasts as in the United States.

"Hollywood, Asian and kids' content are extremely popular with our customers. We are pleased to offer HOOQ's vast selection in the palm of their hands or comfort of their own homes. We will continue to expand CAST's content library for our customers' enjoyment," Goh noted.

Singtel postpaid customers will be getting a three-month trial on HOOQ with a 12-month contract as an introductory offer. They will be charged S$4.90 per month after the trial period ends.

For postpaid customers who would not want to have a contract-based subscription, they have the option to avail of the service at S$7.90 a month.

The service provides unlimited viewing for up to five devices, with the ability to download titles for later viewing. Additionally, the streaming service is ad-free.
