Asset management company Northern Trust appointed Yen Leng Ong as head of Singapore and South East Asia operations.
Ong, who joined Northern Trust in 2009, will start her new role from December 1, the 100-year old Chicago-based bank services asset managers said in a statement on Tuesday.
Ong assumed the expanded role of chief administrative officer in 2016, where she was responsible for Asia-Pacific business and product strategy.
In her new role, Ong will be responsible for leading Northern Trust's asset servicing business activities and drive the growth of key business lines including asset management and capital markets across the South East Asia region.
She will continue to report to William Mak, head of Asia-Pacific, also located in Singapore.
Earlier this year, Northern Trust announced the establishment of its branch office in South Korea, and made several hires in North Asia.
It will also set up a European Union banking base in Luxembourg following Britain's decision last year to leave the bloc.
