Jose Mourinho has reportedly ordered Manchester United chiefs to sign AS Monaco man Fabinho.

The Red Devils are keen to land the Brazilian after not yet being able to finalize the Serge Aurier deal from Paris Saint-Germain due to some complications.

According to reports from the Express UK, United can clinch a deal for the 23-year-old if they offer £40.6m (€45m) and meet his asking price.

The Brazilian was linked with a move for the right back, who can also play in midfield, at the start of the transfer window.

The French champions snubbed their advances and have also reportedly rejected a £36.1m (€40m) offer from Atletico Madrid in recent weeks.

United have had considerable success in this window, shelling out more than approximately a £150m to sign Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof.

But Mourinho is still not satisfied with United's lack of urgency in the transfer market, with the Portuguese manager eager to sign another wide player before the transfer window shuts later this month.

Monaco have had a stellar season both domestically and in Europe, with the French outfit winning the Ligue 1 title after 17 years and also managing to reach the semi-finals of the Uefa Champions League.

But the French outfit could see yet another key member of their young side leave this summer, with Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko having already left the club for greener pastures.

Mourinho had been reportedly furious over the fact that United lost out on signing Croatia international winger Ivan Perisic after the club failed to act in time. Inter had been initially open to the sale but have recently told United otherwise, mainly due to the delay and with the new season right upon us.

Which had made Mourinho shift his focus to Real Madrid's Wales international winger Gareth Bale. Bale, reportedly has told teammate Luka Modric he wants to sign for Manchester United.

The Express UK reports that Chelsea have surprisingly emerged as serious contenders to sign Bale.

But the player himself wants a move to United, and has told Modric of his wish to join Jose Mourinho's side.
