A magistrate court in Limbang, a town situated in East Malaysia, has charged a 72-year-old man, along with his 40-year-old son and other male members of his family, for raping his minor grand daughter on several occasions.
The accused, which includes three cousins of the victim, were unrepresented in court and did not make any plea.
The shocking incident happened in a village in Limbang between November 2016 and June 2017. The 12-year old victim was raped by the grandfather on six occasions, the father on four occasions, and the three cousins on five, three and four occasions respectively, according to reports.
It was also noted during the proceeding that all the crimes took place in separate locations.
The miscreants have been charged under Section 376B of the Penal Code. If convicted they are likely to face a jail term for of up to 30 years and canning.
The proceedings will continue with a next hearing on 6 September.
